HISTORY OF HEAVY METAL 101

HISTORY OF HEAVY METAL SERIES  (101) REISSUED.

**(PREFACE)**

As many of you who are true Heavy Metal fans and have followed Heavy Metal music throughout your life know, Heavy Metal in all reality and actuality is Rock 'n' Roll's longest surviving genre of music. My emphasis is on genre more than a sub-genre of rock 'n' roll history due to the brutal fact that no matter the current musical climate, landscape or what rock had to offer a world wide audience, Heavy Metal as a whole has and remains in the legacy and pantheon of Rock 'n' Roll History.
I first issued this 'Epic Series' on my Mypace profile between the years of 2007-2008. It was so abbreviated as my goal was not to bore nor exhaust the reader. However like most reissues in music whether they are on a CD, MP3, Blog or Podcast format, this time the series will be more in depth and exhaustive as to give this wonderful Genre of music the justice it rightfully deserves. Instead of clustering a few bands together into one installment, in certain installments I will actually discuss one band. I will talk about its entire history up to its present existence if there is one.
My goal is also to introduce a whole new generation of Metal fans to the history of the music they have come to love. This time certain sections will read like a novel while others will read like a encyclopedia of Heavy Metal. I will also include Podcasts in many of the segments for the newer generation of fans so they will know beyond a shadow of doubt the origin of the music and how it has evolved into the Goliath we know today. For the first time in history 'ALL' forms of Heavy Metal are available to the global community.

One night you can go see and purchase music from  Classic Metal bands such as a Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Motorhead, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden and turn around the next day and see a show and purchase a album from newer bands like Hammerfall, As I Lay Dying, Slipknot, Pantera, Black Daliah Murder, Unearth, Underoath , Nightwish, Epica and Dream Theater to name a few.
This series will take up to about a full year to complete this time around to give the fullness of the music and to do justice to it. The reason I will be doing Podcasts on select if not most sections this time around so many of the newer

generation can have a formal introduction to the Pioneers of Heavy Metal. I have been
a Metal Head to the bone for the better part of 30+ years now and this is and will be a true labour of love. There will also be special tribute sections to those in Heavy Metal who influenced many and left legacies that still endure to this very day. Some tributes will include people like Ronnie James Dio, Randy Rhoads, Dimebag Darrel Abbot of Pantera and much more. I will also include those people who left us all too soon in the 'The Ghosts Of Metal' section on this Blog site as a seperate page to them with Podcasts of the wonderful influential music they left behind. I truly hope you will enjoy this and have a better understanding and appriciation of what it took to keep Heavy Metal as Rock 'n' Roll's longest survivor. I will welcome suggestions as well. I will be issuing a Blog with Podcast every 2 weeks this time instead of every week like I did back in 2007-2008 due to the fact there will be more literary and audio content included on the reissue of this series. Be ready for this journey it will be a true epic.
